Gesture-controlled Pepper's Ghost
Spring 2024 | Emergining Media Interfaces
I created these Pepper's Ghost Illusions for an emerging media interface class using a variety of materials. This project taught me about precision in hand building as well as helped me gain experience in merging the digital and physical world. The use case is an educational and interactive museum kiosk.
The first video shows the basic interaction with my first prototype. This version was made using a small monitor reflected on a stretched piece of mylar to produce the illusion. The structure is made of foamcore and hot glue.
The second video shows the building process and interaction of the second prototype. This version was made using a projector, mirror, and stretched piece of mylar to produce the illusion. The structure is much larger than the first version and is made of MDF.
